HANDSCHIMANU was born as an ALAB laboratory in July 2016 from the creative passion of Maria Rita, Ornella, Arturo and Giuseppe. An open and dynamic project, fueled mainly by the pure joy given to work strictly in the manual way leather, wood, metals and precious stones, drawing inspiration from our territory and from the Sicilian, for colors, shapes and raw materials. HANDSCHIMANU realizes handicrafts and unique pieces, such as: (1) non-serial serigraphs on paper, cardboard, wood, cotton, linen and other polymaterial supports. Screen printing is performed exclusively with water-based colors and with the use of self-built machinery; (2) tools stringed music (acoustic or electric) and ethnic percussion made by recycling wine boxes, boxes of cigars and various objects (pots, teapots, lids, etc.), prepared and modified; (3) earrings, necklaces, rings, bracelets made of minerals, rocks and metals. A good part of the production is based on the use of Sicilian geomaterials to increase even more the uniqueness of the jewelry and confer a true territorial connotation.
