Libbra, born after years of study dedicated to the book object from multiple points of view, from codicology to restoration, up to the experimentation of the binding of white books, to be filled with writings, drawings, images. The strong passion for the construction of the book, for the ancient artisan techniques of bookbinding and art, more and more growing and deepened over time, have given life to an artisan workshop meeting place for young people, adults and children, in which art and craftsmanship go hand in hand, where the tradition of binding is combined with the possibilities of creative recycling: paper, fabrics, leather and the mastery of hands give life to unique and absolutely original artifacts. The products that are born in my laboratory, are realized through a slow manufacturing process that goes from the choice and from the cut of the paper, to the seam and again, to the binding. Each product is unique, there are no reproductions. The working method also allows an easy customization of the product. The purpose of Libbra is to pass on a cultural message, necessary in an era made of technological devices, and educational, against the strong consumption of which this company is the protagonist. For this reason, Libbra involves the youngest in workshop activities followed by professionals, where the practical approach becomes an instrument of experimentation and knowledge and is proposed as an open space of interaction periodically hosting exhibitions of artists from diverse backgrounds, with the aim of promoting art and knowledge for the development of society in which Pound lives.
